Governor Seyi Makinde's campaign promise to establish agricultural crop processing centres during his first term (May 2019-May 2023) was fulfilled through a combination of government support for private sector investment and the development of the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub.

By the end of his second year in office (May 2021), multiple crop processing centres had commenced operations: Rontol Farms Industrial Cassava Factory was commissioned in September 2021 with capacity to process cassava, while Niji Group and Psaltry International Ltd also started their cassava processing operations.

Additionally, the administration collaborated with the private sector to revive the moribund Ido-Ibadan Farming and Marketing Cooperative Factory with capacity to process 30 tonnes of cassava daily.

By August 2022, still within the first term, Governor Makinde inaugurated Psaltry International Company Limited in Iseyin, Africa's first cassava-based sorbitol factory with capacity to produce 25 tons daily.

The promise to establish agricultural crop processing centres was demonstrably achieved during the first term through strategic public-private partnerships and agribusiness hub development.
