The FMS Farm Road (also referred to as Oke Ako Farm road) was clearly listed among the six pilot roads in Governor Fayemi's 1,000km rural roads flag-off on January 15, 2021. The project is under the RAAMP programme, co-financed by the World Bank and the French Agency for Development (AFD). The flag-off occurred before the end of January 2021, exactly as promised. The governor, represented by Deputy Governor Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, stated that the roads would stimulate grassroots economy, provide market access for farm produce, and prevent post-harvest losses. Contractors were instructed to engage local artisans and workmen to benefit the communities. While update from the RAAMP roads show they are far from being completed by the time Fayemi left office, the promise specifically required only commencement of rehabilitation and reconstruction before the end of January 2021, not completion.
